Thanks, Debra! I think it's always a good idea to check with conference organizers (and I've found this true outside of Ignite as well) as to what they think will be most relevant and interesting for attendees. They don't have to give away any State secrets, but they know what they're looking for, and they can give you an idea. Then build your presentation around that.

Particularly with Ignite, I think the more interesting your topic idea is, the better it will work, since that's what Ignite is all about – to spark and raise the collective consciousness. The Ignite talks I enjoyed the most were well-rehearsed (as above) yet natural, and the ones that made me think, or took something we take for granted everyday and put a whole new spin on it.
