I have just set up Google + pages for both @WorldWomenWork and @Stories4Good. My sole reason for doing so, at least at this stage, is for SEO purposes - something not to be underestimated in getting your nonprofit found, especially for small local nonprofits. Google+ is bound to be weighted favorably in Google's search algorithms. It is also good, especially for small nonprofits, to get used to using everything Google - eg. route all your social media activity through one Gmail account; have a presence on Google Places; be on YouTube. Sign up for Google For Nonprofits. Google+ nicely integrates all your Google presences into one big profile page and, even if you only use Google+ to post your website & blog updates initially, it can only help in terms of your SEO - and all for free. I'd say get a presence going now and then look at further ways to use its features once you start to build a following.
